Paul Madden, is managing partner of Paul Madden Associates, based in Newport, RI.
For the last 25-years, Paul Madden has worked in the upper echelon of the global ship and yacht manufacturing business, representing companies in US, Monaco & Mexico (Camper & Nicholsons), Germany (Blohm+Voss/ThyssenKrupp) and Italy (CRN/Ferretti). His expertise includes complex international brokerage transactions, new vessel construction (over €100 million), and marine asset finance.
The company holds the only US Treasury OFAC License for yacht operations to, and within Cuba; and has operated more charter and owner trips to Cuba than any other company. His team has established business relations with the leading Cuban marinas, service providers, and key governmental agencies involved in port operations and waterfront development.
Madden is one of the founders and is a manager of Port Caribe, a mega-yacht shipyard and marina in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This new operation is the largest shipyard in the Caribbean and serves as the Caribbean home port to some of the world's largest yachts.
A life-long New England sailor with trans-Atlantic racing and cruising experience in Europe, Mexico, Alaska and throughout the Caribbean.He received his MBA from Boston University School of Management in Brussels and also has a filmmaking degrees from the National Film and Television School of England. He has served as Vice President of the International Superyacht Society and is a former Board Member of the American Sail Training Association (Tall Ships).
Paul Madden has addressed a number of seminars and professional meetings in regard to Cuban maritime operations and also on the general topic of U.S. companies doing business in Cuba.
Paul Madden received his MBA from Boston University's School of Management, Brussels Graduate Center in Belgium, and also has a Graduate Degree from The National Film & Television School of England.
